"Treehouse in Pays de Retz"
Presentation
Practical information
With its perched fishery, this Nantaise folly makes us dream!
They welcome us as soon as we cross the Loire estuary, these fishing huts that line the coastline of Pays de Retz.
These large wooden stilts perpetuate the tradition of fishing. Surrounded by the sea, families or friends gather to fish for perch, eels, pike-perch with a square net and share good times together.
The town of Corsept alone has 37 of them, but here, as on the rest of the coast, none of them host overnight guests - for obvious insurance reasons.
No matter, the Manoir de l'Espérance has transposed this maritime universe into the pines and chestnut trees of its park, while respecting the spirit and architectural requirements of the navigation service.
In this wooden hut crafted by Jean-Claude Maillard, the carpenter from Saint-Père, four people can sleep (double bed and two bunk beds). Fun decorations and details delight visitors, such as the foghorn you are given to call for your breakfast and the small pulley to hoist up your miraculous catch: your breakfast!
The Manoir de l'Espérance is a Folie nantaise, a vacation home of the aristocracy and bourgeoisie of the 18th century; this adds even more charm to your getaway in Loire Atlantique!
Stroll along the golden sandy beaches of the Jade coast, along the trails that traverse the marshes, rivers, or vineyards. Whether you follow the Atlantic coast or the Canal de la Martinière, two must-visit sites will help you organize your route and cycling stops, Vélodyssée and Loire à vélo.
